Big Insect part 2

Another view. 1:1 according Nikon is a full size representation. The digital factor changes this to make the subject bigger. The 1:1 is achieved from less than 4" from the subject.

I prefer the first one, you see more details, and it's more horror film.

When I was a kid, I used to break the lower part of the legs (the one in focus) on grasshoppers when they come to my study at night. And leave them on my study table. Once you break them they cannot jump. I was brought up in a country side with electricity gone most of the time and we used to study at night with lanterns with the windows open.
